Thanks to all who have donated, purchased items and bought prize draw entries as part of our fundraising for the Motherwell Disabled Supporters Association.
We would also like to extend a special thanks to David MacDonald, Suzanne Grant, Keith Lasley and the amazing team at Paterson’s Trophy Supplies for donating auction items.
The fundraising began on the back of national news coverage regarding the association, which from speaking to those who work so hard in ensuring a great experience for Motherwell fans with disabilities had come as a huge blow to them.
Since then the support and generosity has been staggering, every time I speak to the chairman of the Motherwell DSA, Darren McPhee, he will have another update on an incredible act of kindness that has helped get the disabled supporters association back on track.
The podcast fundraising has now surpassed £600 and we did anticipate that would be the final figure, until yet another instance where a Motherwell fan went above and beyond to help us out.
One of the star prizes (an engraved whisky bottle commemorating the Motherwell v Borussia Dortmund, UEFA Cup tie in 1995) has been donated back to be auctioned by the winner of the prize draw.
While it was requested there be no fanfare about this, we do greatly appreciate the gesture. Licensing laws prevent us from listing the bottle online, so instead the listing for the bottle on eBay is for our charity book – the winning bidder will receive the whisky. Thanks again for all the support and we wish Darren and his team on the Motherwell DSA, all the very best for their fresh start!
